Core Practices

Embodied Processing

Embodied processing is an evidence-based, holistic approach to somatic therapy drawing from psychological science, neuroscience, and ancient contemplative traditions. It is a guided, integrative practice where you are safely held in relation by an experienced therapist. It works with the ‘all-of-human, whole-of-organism, mindbody system’; combining bottom up and top down approaches to regulation.

Drawing from a unique blend of modalities, including Somatic Experiencing (SE), the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), NeuroAffective Touch (NATouch), Internal Family Systems (IFS), The Diamond Approach (open ended inquiry), Compassionate Inquiry (CI) and more, embodied processing is thoughtfully tailored to each person and their entirely unique survival physiology.

The therapeutic process itself deepens and nuances your emotional capacity and bodily awareness through intuitive self-inquiry, core techniques and relational safety. The roots of underlying fears, beliefs, emotional wounds and traumas will be healthily explored, safely and progressively processed, and fully integrated into the mindbody system that you are, creating the right conditions for truly lasting change.


Embodied Presence

Embodied presence is meeting everyday life in all its diversity with new capacities you have deliberately cultivated; skills, practices, ways of being.

You will learn to establish mindbody awareness, tracking and identifying mental loops, emotional tiggers and nervous system patterns in real time; seeing, with clarity, the adaptive survival processes for what they are. When this occurs you will become capable of meeting your experience as it is, without judgement. In real-time you will learn to send signals of safety to your nervous system, forming new neural pathways in the process. Taking, as it’s so often called, the road less travelled.

Although often something that challenges our clients, nervous system re-patterning is all about awareness, presence, appropriate intervention and consistent repetition. Day after day. It is a commitment to change fuelled by patience, compassion and loving-kindness. And perhaps more than just a little courage! Through this process you can become the witness of your physical mechanisms instead of becoming identified with or frustrated by them.

Embodied presence ultimately enables you to show up differently, make aligned choices and enact new ways of being.


SMILE_PH

Sense-Making Interviews Looking at Elements of Philosophical Health (Miranda) is a structured, dialogue-based intervention designed to assess and cultivate philosophical health across six existential dimensions: bodily sense, sense of self, sense of belonging, sense of the possible, sense of purpose, and philosophical sense.

Developed within clinical and educational contexts and grounded in the CIPHER model, SMILE_PH moves beyond symptom management toward a systematic exploration of how individuals relate to meaning, identity, and future possibility.

The method combines phenomenological depth with structured inquiry, offering a replicable protocol currently undergoing empirical evaluation in healthcare settings.

Rather than prescribing answers, SMILE_PH strengthens a person’s capacity to articulate, reorient, and compose their own eudynamic (a good relationship to the possible and compossible) trajectory within complex life conditions.

The SMILE_PH program consists of 8 sessions of 50 minutes, with practical activities and reading taking place after each counselling session.

Philosophía

Philosophical counselling is special kind of conversation where two (or more) parties engage in a healthy, respectful and deliberately challenging back and forth. The counsellor invites you to explore the biggest and perhaps most powerful ideas in your life; What is reality? How does the world really work? What is knowledge? What do I value? How should I act? What really makes me me? Through this process, a more critical, reflective and coherent picture can emerge that supports your everyday; Is this the right job for me? Should I really move countries? How do I actually want to spend my free time? Should I go back and study? How can I best support my kids in navigating the unique difficulties of modern life? Should I really be using this Generative AI that everyone is obsessed with? What might the consequences of this be over time?

Diverse approaches, such as Socratic Dialogue, Values Clarification, Existential Inquiry, Conceptual Analysis, Critical Reflection and Thought Experiments are employed throughout a given session. But the thing that matters most, regardless of the approaches we use, is the stance you take. Are you willing to truly engage with your entirely unique process of wisdom seeking?
